I have had a chance to try it several times now. The uploads are on the slow side but not bad. The actual process doesn’t take but a few seconds.
All of these slicer programs are built from Orca which has been a thing for several years… There is no reason Snorca should be so bare bones and unpolished.
How about adding manual control of networking parameters – it seems the standard firmware does not provide this.
anybody using the tmc auto tune and tmc reduced current options?
do they work or should i wait ???
i also heard turning velocity down to 3 will make the printer more quiet… any infos..?

I’ve just started using all this, and that point confused me as well, but it arises from a misunderstanding of the workflow.
The loaded filaments show up correctly in SnOrca, in the Device pane. This has nothing to do with the filaments shown in the Prepare pane, what you do there is create a library of all the filaments and colours you might or will want to use. Prepare your model using your library.
When you then slice ready to send to the printer, that’s when the mapping from “desired” to “actual” will be made. An attempt to match the desired filament type/colour will be made, and can then be edited if required.
Don’t expect to sync your library of filaments with the loaded filaments.
In main stream Orca & other browsers based on same on the prepare page there is an icon, normally a tiny AMS, which when clicked will fill the usable filaments with what is loaded in the AMS, CFS etc, in the case of the U1 tool heads. This workflow makes more sense. You can see what the model will look like before it’s printed.
It’s in main stream Orca for the U1 so the code is there Snapmaker just need to implement it into their code.
The current workflow makes no sense to me.
I can see what you mean, the option would be nice and then we could do as we liked.

Guess I need to go download the new version and check it out.
For me Snorca just works better with the U1. I think the main thing that turns me off from main stream Orca is the Device page which is just the Fluidd frontend. I mainly use the Device page to setup my filament but now that I’m using RDIF tags on most of my spools, maybe I don’t need the Snorca device page any longer.
Not sure if you are using PAXX, but you have the option to use mainsail instead of Fluuid if that suits you better?
FWIW I use Orca as like you I use RFID/openspoon on tags so all I have to do now is choose my custom filament profiles
