Old linear modules: repurpose or discard?

Doing some cleaning-up in the basement, I came across the original linear modules from an A350. The loud ones that didn’t seem to do good a job with 3D printing, and that SM later sold an upgrade for.

Has anyone figured out a use for these? Or are they only good for the landfill?

I am still using the old ones, and tolerating the noise and slackness that needs adjusting occasionally.
If one should decide to go wrong I can’t see myself upgrading, I would probably pass the whole machine on and get a different brand.
For the cost of postage I would take them as spares.
Whereabouts are you?

Ditto depending on location.

In the Northeastern US.

Yeah, not interested in keeping these as spares - I have since acquired a better machine for each one of the A350’s modes (3DP, laser, CNC engraver) so this thing doesn’t get a lot of use. Feels like I’m always fightring it, compared to the others which all just kinda work.

Video looks interesting, gotta take a look at the time investment the controller box would require.

Anyone interested in the modules, send me a message and we’ll see if something can be worked out. Giving away not selling, and avoiding packing everything up for shipping is even better.
