Maximum Laserable and Routing Height?

For the SM A350:

What is the maximum height of an object that I can laser engrave/etch? I already have an understanding of the laser cutting limitations. For example, can I put in a 5in block of wood to engrave an image onto?

Same for CNC…can I put in a 5in block of wood and carve an image? I already have an understanding of the depth limitations from the bits being used.

I Just can’t seem to find the answer on the Forum or the SM website.

Thank you.

Yes.

Also yes.

Usable height looks to be around 11" including a bit of tool stickout and whatnot

Of course!

I should mention the “auto” way of setting tool height is not conducive to tall objects. But there also is a “manual” way that involves manually touching off, much like a manual mill. Pretty much the entire build volume is usable. However very heavy objects will push the limits of the Y axis and don’t expect quick acceleration - your toolpaths will have to take the machine rigidity into account when you create them if you have a 10"x12"x12" solid block of wood on the table.

Thank you again. You’ve been exceptionally helpful.
