Sorry for being late.
Mac os packaging always fails, we are currently working on it.
Only windows and linux versions are available now.

Thank you for supporting this project.

Hey, can we get any pointers on what to look for in the new features / optimisations? And what is G-code Materialization?

Early feedback:

I’ve just tried the spline curve drawing, took me ages to realise I had to hold down the mouse when clicking each new point to control the curve (really tired at the moment). Initially I randomly saw it try to draw the odd segment between straight lines. Now I understand it, it’s great. There were some visual artifacts that looked odd, but now they’re okay, it was the anti-aliasing I guess in the top-right line segment.
Bad:

Good (After switching applications to chrome and back):

The single layer view is fine, as is the layout of the rotation function. I found the view wouldn’t descend quite as close to the first layer as I’d like, but it was using a small laptop screen, fine on larger monitor.
Multi-model imports fine too. I’d eventually love to see 3MF files supported for import (at least .obj inside .3mf/zip)

Yes, multi model import is great. Also note that the text object duplication bug has been fixed.

Hope to take a look at CNC tool shape compensation in the next day or two.

They’ll be a lot of happy people when the cnc/laser allows multiple model/image import too

3mf support is already planned, if the development goes well, you can see it in the next version.

Any update on Mac version? Installed Windows without issue, imported two STL and overlayed and printed without issue. Want to set up a rotary laser job this weekend and be good test on the Mac if ready?

Mac version installed and runs.

Using 4D rotary for laser. Set product size as 270x70 imported an svg and placed.

Set up toolpath. Then moved to generate tool path and previews.

Stops each time at 40%. See pics of program and task list.

Luban 4.3.0

I have the same problem in Windows. Slightly different but same issue.

In windows the file imports (an svg) I place it then click generate and preview.

It waits for ages then shows me a a blank model, I close the preview and it gives me the sample lion on the screen not the file I imported.

Going to roll back a version and test it works.

There’s a release-3, maybe change link to Releases · parachvte/Luban · GitHub ? Doesn’t seem like much except cosmetic changes.

I’m running a copy on a Mac, seemed to be fine for simple things on a Snapmaker original, exporting code for use in octoprint.
planter.stl (2.3 MB)
(Forum said uploaded file is 0bytes when using safari on Mac, had to switch back to windows laptop to upload STL)

I imported this model as the Original machine, it doesn’t fit, but choose the Don’t Scale option and notice the models size (190x140x100), then change machine settings to A350. Then load 3d workspace and import model again. Then Ctrl+Click on model and duplicate model. Then ctrl+click and Auto Arrange models. Luban progress bar stalls at Arranging Models…1%.

Tested on Windows 11 too, same problem.

Can you share your project? I suspect it’s a software performance issue.

We’ve identified the issue, the auto arrange of the right-click menu is abnormal.

Laser CNC multi object import is also planned for the next version.

I can’t see how to share the project?

Save project and compress to zip format, maybe include model too, then upload that zip file instead.

Here is the project

thanks, that worked, never considered a zip file. duh…

Luban v4.3.0 Beta Test is over. Thank all.

v4.3.0 just adds few new features.

v4.4.0 will be a milestone version, and we will have some features for alpha testing this month. Looking forward to getting your feedback.
