Hello everyone,
As a beginner in the Luban software, I need your expertise and enlightenment as follows:
My attempt to engrave 8 running lines of text (four lines of text are placed separately above and four lines of text are placed below) “fails”
I have separately deposited and saved the complete engraving and milling data for each line of text with different fonts/font sizes.
I started the centering and setting of the engraving pen according to the specifications.
During the engraving process, however, after the first 3 lines of text in the upper area, the engraving process continues on the lower area of the text lines - so far so good - I assume a normal process !!! but with the 2nd line of text in the lower text area, the engraving process “”" is constantly repeated “”" - the milling time is more than 2.5 hours !!!
That can’t be right, there are only 3 lines of text left to engrave!!
I have to abort the process because I can’t see the error !!
The 4th line of text in the upper area is not engraved
The 3rd and 4th lines in the lower area are not engraved
HOW CAN I SELECT THE DESIRED 8 SEPARATE
Lines of text - engraving operations “” engrave without interruption “”.
Which error inputs/commands do I have?
My workpiece dimensions:
100mm x 222mm
four lines of text in the “upper area” of the workpiece occupy 60mm
engraving surface
the required average free area of the workpiece is approx. 105 mm
four lines of text in the “lower area” of the workpiece occupy a 60mm engraving area
I would like to ask for your specialist knowledge or for a solution proposal for my project.
How deep are you engraving? Have you set multiple passes with a very small step down on one of the text objects?
I know as a new member on the forum there are restrictions as to what you can post but a screenshot may help understand what you are trying to achieve.
To save time, I set the engraving depth to 0.5mm or the immersion depth is also set to 0.5mm to save further milling passes
however, 2 passages are engraved !!
is there a setting error here?
Sample test run with test plate (see photo)
as described with error feature:
at line 6 below - Platzhirsch trophies the engraving process is constantly repeated - this is not normal -
remaining engraving time for the remaining 3 lines of text is displayed as more than 2.5 hours !!!
I canceled the process!
1 line of text in the upper area is missing
2 lines of text in the lower area are missing
the milling depth set is not adopted for certain fonts - is that normal?

.5mm isn’t very deep.
If your work piece and/or your spoil board isn’t flat it could just be that the bit isn’t reaching those areas.
Is the path going over those areas? If so try running a 2nd pass with work origin lower by .5mm.
Hi,
Thank you for your effort and help, the workpiece is smaller than the support surface -
I don't fix my workpieces with the supplied clamps - the slight distortion (up to 0.1 - 0.2 mm of the contact surface can be prevented with this solution) the mounting plate for the x/y axis still has its weaknesses - I basically glue my workpieces on the contact surface - so the workpieces are fixed absolutely flat - I can save myself the test for the course of the milling head - the loosening of workpieces is easy to do with my solution.
The Luban software has probably reached its limits with my object -
I created the text lines for my object with Inkscape and converted them to CNC format - I'm thrilled, top result - the engraving time has been reduced by 70%.
I will invest more time in the Inkscape software in the future
Thank you for your help
Kind regards
