Luban 4.9.1: Support structures not created and not printed... Bug?

Hello everybody,

have tried the first time to generate support structures on LUBAN 4.9.1 on a quite steep angle, as shown on the picture below:

Have sliced this part already several times in PrusaSlicer in several versions and each of them generates corresponding support structures unterneath the angled area.

Doing the (hopefully) the same process in LUBAN 4.9.1, i get the following results in the “preparation window”:

indicating, support strucutes will be generated (or?) - at leas this was my expectation… Checking the preview, i get the following result:

No support generated at any position on the model… and checking the print confirms: no support structure generated nor printed…

Is it worth to report a bug on GitHub about this topic?

Found another topic on support structures (unfortunately, without any result / resolve):
Similar topic on 4.8

What about “support stair step maximum width”. Perhaps that one can have an effect? Personally, I try to avoid printing/design like this so I don´t have much experience with this problem…

Okay… have no idea what happened now / today but: have just closed LUBAN this afternoon and after seing the last reply I’ve restarted the tool, selected the file, hit “auto generate support” (as on the last time) and now this:

Support was created - but not everywhere - here the front:

8.3.x - as it should look like
Luban 8.3.1 - how it looks in the preview

Now, LUBAN is doing a portion of support at least…

Sure, avoiding supports is always the best, but it’s a replacement part and the OEM designed a freaky angle to the drawer, so i have to copy it, otherwise the part will not fit…

What i meant was that i always try to avoid chamfers/fillets that needs support so close to the bed. Anyways, i think maybe adjusting the “minimum support area” could make it work…

Thanks for the hint! Will give a try on the next print (will not take too long time )
