Loose panels

Hi everyone,

I just received my U1 and encountered a little problem while unpacking it.
When I remove the adhesive tape from the inner cover at the front behind the display and at the rear behind the print heads, they fall out.
The rear one is then just loose and rattles, but the front one falls out and collides with the print head.
I’ve tried everything, but I can’t clip them in securely. I can’t see any damage either; all the clips are actually okay.
Does anyone have any ideas or have had a similar problem?

A funny solution you find in the wiki. scroll down to “Panels/Covers/Housing”.

They say the earlier batches had this issue, but it should be fixed once they retool the mold. I followed the wiki tip and added a bit of tape（4 layers of tape）—no problems so far.

There’s a gap between those two statements; so what’s the situation with the current batches? Or are the current batches being sent out still the ‘earlier batches’?

If the issue was with beta units then you could understand…but with production units? Seriously? That is poor :thinking:

I’m also not happy with the suggested fix. Especially for the rear panel as you can’t get to it due to the mount for the toolheads blocking access.

I got mine today with the same issue. It’s not affecting functionality but very annoying. Might as well tape this piece.
