Laser engraving skip speed

Am I missing something? (probably… )

I set up a 4 axis laser engraving, and set the jog speed to 30000mm/min and 20mS dwell time in dot mode. It appears that the rotational speed is the same when it’s marking and when it’s not. I thought that was the idea behind jog speed, to skip quickly over the part that isn’t being marked.

Also intrigued by this. I’m running on 3 axis and have a job going where it does two vector jobs in line mode first and that’s damn quick, then it switches to another section of the job which is in dot mode and suddenly everything becomes super slow, regardless of if the laser is actually active or not, it’s all the same speed?
