we have some very nice grey-brown-terracotta-colored ceramic tiles. So I have set up a laser-job
The 10W-laser cuts fine into the material, there is no smoke and no smell at all BUT there is a hissing sound and some glowing sparks are visible, so I stopped the job (I donāt want the laser-lens getting burned).
I wonder if anyone has tried that before or has information about āburning/lasering cermaic tilesā? Whatās the glowing sparks?
Iāve done a bunch of ceramic tile and the sound is normal. The little spark bits are just superheated pieces popping if they have a little moisture. Dry them good first and it might help. Otherwise, itās fine.
Thanks. I thought so too about the sound, and it also may fit to the moisture that is vaporising.
Do you have any recommendations on speed and laser power?
