Not the case, the exported gcode is correct. You can view it at ncviewer.com (something I do with all of my projects anyways) as a sanity check that your origin is correct and the gcode is doing what you expect.
I don’t trust any software without another piece of software validating it. I’ll give S3D a pass because it has a separate viewer built in. Cura, half a pass - it has a visualizer, but it’s actually not looking at the gcode for the preview, it’s cheating and looking at the internal model. Still possible for the gcode to be different than the preview, although unlikely.
I can try that too. I will check all the connections and make sure the x, y, and z are all moving the whole range. If they are I will move on to checking running from the SM itself. Thanks!
OK, totally my fault. Somehow I put the y linear modules offset from where they are supposed to be. How? I have no idea. This isn’t my first rodeo, yet here I am. So they were reaching their limit in the wrong place. So take it apart and put it back together and I’m sure it will work. Sigh!
Thank you all for the wonderful help. I really appreciate the time and energy you all took to help out a newbie.
In the future I recommend testing on a less important pice. Maybe some cardboard left over from Christmas or paper, to make sure it will work properly without wasting expensive wood
