How come I can't change nozzle sizes

I bought a third party set of Snapmaker U1 0.6 hotends off of Amazon and just installed them. When I tried to go into the maintenance menu on the printer I couldn’t change the nozzle size. The only thing that showed up was 0.4. Also, in Snorca the nozzle size option is greyed out and only shows 0.4. How can I change this?

By editing the slicer config files and then enabling newly added nozzles in printer config (in slicer). Orca slicer documentation has the steps.
I’m not sure if anyone done this yet. Have been using early snapmaker test profiles with their prototype nozzles. Even then it was kind of a pita to install them.

I wondered about this being greyed out. I’m guessing this will be officially enabled once they ship the other nozzle sizes.

In a Snapmaker Survey I stressed as often as possible that I really need multiple nozzle sizes in a print enabled!

Multiple nozzle sizes within one print? Do any slicers support that??

I imagine that would require a substantial rewrite of the core slicing engine.

@CrazyIvan I started doing it 6+ years ago in Simplify3D, using E3D Revo Nozzles!

Base = Layer Height 0.5mm using 0.8mm nozzle

“Details” = Layer Height 0.2mm using 0.4mm nozzle

Snapmaker asked several times in a questionnaire if this is something that users want enabled!

Orca does, there were success stories posted with U1.
