I am trying to add supports to get something to print without falling. It was quite a bit of tilt and the auto sopport feature does not add anything. Thoughts
You could:
- Install cura
- Go to marketplace and get the custum supports plugin
- Create your supports
- Mark the object, all the supports and choose export selection. Save as .stl
- Import to Luban
Why not just use cura to create the gcode and print from there?
You might want to try printing it in a different orientation. Is there a way to lay it flatter? Since you haven’t shared the object it’s hard to be helpful.

Well, that’s a pretty obvious way to go. I’m just explaining a way to do it if wanting to continue slicing with luban…
I haven’t had any problems with Luban’s auto supports. When it doesn’t generate them, I haven’t needed them. Although the layer height is a factor. I can print a 60º overhang with a 0.1mm layer height, but only 50º with a 0.2mm layer. Depending on the object’s base, I might need a brim with a lot of overhang. I’d have to see the print, and run through the layer preview to decide.
Cura also exposes the overhang angle for supports as a parameter, so there’s no need to get a plugin. Just lower the overhang angle, and it’ll generate supports. I see that option in Luban 4.6.3. Oh sweet, Luban added Tree supports too.
I figured, but since there are a lot of people on here who are inexperienced, it’s best to include that info with your suggestions.

What info? That it’s possible to slice with Cura? Ok if you think information is missing you can just add it without dictating what I say, bro.
You can manually add supports in luban.
Nice! I didn’t know that. No need to switch to Cura in this case then…
