Hello,
Could you add a feature just to drill a hole.
No fuss.. just hole drilling.
Thanks

Apparently it is a lot of fuss! Not the first time this has been requested. See [Feature Request] CNC Holes! . Unfortunately no one seems to respond to anything on this topic anymore. I have no idea if the capability of G73, or G83, peck drilling, etc. is enabled or intended to be enabled in the A350 or other machines. I guess a better machine or more responsive support organization is the answer.
Snapmaker developed their new U1 and the other machines just get spare parts.
Check what they said here:
At this time, we do not have plans to release updates for the Artisan or SM2 firmware.
There will no new feature coming out. Snapmaker decided to lose their 3in1 customers. ![]()
That’s too bad. Yet they are still selling SM2 and Artisan? IMHO the CNC functions of SM2 are the weakest link in the 3-in-1 suite. I find the 3-d printing ok for the kinds of things I need for now - but really it was (and continues to be) the laser I needed. Still, it seems to me that it wouldn’t take a huge level of effort to add G73/G83 to the firmware for the CNC. I see that the SM2 firmware has been released as open source on Github, but unfortunately I am no engineer and do not have the time or inclination to learn to program firmware. I can make my way through GCode and web-based programming, but as far as 3d/CNC functions, I would really rather be just a regular user - that means that if I want to drill precision holes, I need a different kind of machine I guess. I hope SM folks don’t expect me to be singing their praises. This functionality has been requested for over 4 years and should have been addressed long before now. I will not be suggesting to anyone considering the U1 that they should expect any kind of reasonable customer service or technical support. By the time they start to realize the bugs in U1, SM will be off developing their next disaster. ![]()
