Disconnected EVERY TIME

Every time I go to print something, every… single… time… it’s disconnected again and I need to login and reconnect the printer.

EVERY… F*CKING… TIME

Isn’t a single printer in my inventory that I need to do this with or has this problem.

Can you fix the problem already?

Which version is your FW ?

Open a support ticket, they are really helpful:
https://snapmaker.formcrafts.com/u1-troubleshooting-request

Support ticket may not be needed. If he/she would reply to the question (which version of FW), there could be help.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the firmware… it’s solely due to the Snorca

The only time I’ve seen the login screen on pc has been if I left a session running days/overnight. In that case just closing and reopening it, it reconnects immediately.

There is a post in the FB group (see picture) mentioning an update (flutter_web), this is why it is important to know the status of the FW and also Snorca. Search fpr flutter in that group.

Thanks Manfredo52.

Latest version: V1.1.1

Which was a PITA to install because of the network issues and I didn’t feel like doing a local install. Nothing like clicking the “check for updates” button and watching it spin for 5 minutes to be followed by a “check network and retry” error even though there isn’t anything wrong with my network.

Also running the latest version of Snorca: 2.2.4

Thanks xchrisd.

Yep, I did. They said, “they were working on it”.

Thanks very much Manfredo52.

I will have a look at this.

Do you have a link to that post as I’m not sure which group you are referring to?

Thanks again.

The FB group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1025838316286881/

Thanks. I put in a request to join.

Did the modification last night as suggested by Manfredo52. Connected the printer and went to bed. Still connected this morning. THANK YOU!! (so far)

Now they need to fix the network issues with the printer itself (checking for firmware updates and doing the update itself).

Guys! Here’s the thing, just turn off the real-time protection of your computer’s security, I suspect it’s a false positive from the computer.

This 1) doesn’t make any sense, 2) is bad advice.

Last time I installed or re-installed Snorca 2.2.4 I saw that the flutter_web thing was installed additional and automatically..

So they’ve probably added it to the build.
I haven’t seen it disconnect since I did that install, but I think that’s only part of their problem.

  1. Whenever I click, on the printer itself, to check for a firmware update… it spins for several minutes and then asks me to check my network when I know there isn’t anything wrong with the network.
  2. When the printer did notify me that a firmware update was available, it took several attempts to do the update before it finally did, asking me to check my network with every failed attempt.
  3. In Snorca, when I click to start the camera, it usually fails several times before it finally connects.
  4. When it does connect to the camera, the connection will sometimes only last a minute or two, then disconnects. I believe it reports a camera module error.
  5. When it is connected to the camera, the framerate is… well… barely a framerate. More like an image every now and then. I’m estimating around 15 seconds per image.
  6. Not sure why there is an auto shutoff with the camera. There should be an option to keep it on.

The things that are frustrating me the most are: 1) This printer was released to the public this way, 2) The issues still haven’t been resolved.

This is typical China. Get it out the door. Fix the issues later.

I do suggest to delete this comment. 1. Many others (majority) don’t have your problem 2. the support from Snapmaker is excellent, helpful and fast.
you already have the latest FW installed, so why bother now ? People are actually doing this off air, i.e. locally via USB stick. Have the FW stored on your HD and re-flash, if needed. Moreover, there can always be hick ups with onlone services, this was already admitted. Especially when a new batch of printers arrive with the users and they all try their luck. This is why it is suggested to use the LAN mode. Camera: it produces timelapse videos. With this FW it is not meant to show continous video.

I appreciate the help you’ve given me, but I disagree with your comments here and will not delete the comment.

”you already have the latest FW installed, so why bother now ?”

Not sure what you mean by this. You mean checking the firmware? Regardless, the check feature should work whether or not I have the correct firmware installed. I should press the button, it should check online, and report to me that I have the correct firmware installed. It should not spin for 5 minutes and then tell me I have a network error when I do not.

“People are actually doing this off air, i.e. locally via USB stick.”

I don’t particularly care what people are doing, and doing this offline should be an option not a requirement. I can do this easily with all my other machines. Why is it an issue with this one? There is no reason why shouldn’t be easily done online through the printer’s interface.

Right now as I type this, I’m at my desktop watching my Creality K2 Plus and Bambu A1 happily working on prints with their camera in their versions of Orca. Again, something I should be able to do through Snorca.

I agree that their support has been responsive, but hasn’t necessary fixed issues.

But I also agree with my statement that I have made.

“This is typical China. Get it out the door. Fix the issues later.”

I did not receive this machine for free. I am not getting paid to be their beta tester. I am not getting paid to find their problems. When machines ship, they should be tested and working.
