Maybe I’m too slow. I felt it was, so I asked about it in another thread the other day, but they said nothing had changed.
Funny…

@Blockmodule do you feel like me that the spindle speed is slower than before?
I don’t know exactly what it is, because I have no way to verify it, but the same machining process has a high machining load and high noise and vibration.
It’s exactly my feeling. I confirm the high noise level and an higher vibration compared to other machining done before. Moreover cut is not sharp anymore.
I’m with you that it’s difficult to explain. I did a movie: unfortunately it’s not like seeing the effect in the reality.
I also opened the CNC module to clean it but there wasn’t dirty inside. The cabling is ok but I had to slow down the process even with soft woods.
Did you already contacted the Support?
In another thread on the forum where I asked about the speed of the CNC module, Edwin from the staff replied that he had not made any changes to the rotation speed.
I feel that the new end mill has a higher machining load and louder sound and vibration, but no one else has mentioned it, so I must be mistaken:(
It’s odd because something changed immediately after the firmware update.
Can you share the link of the other thread so maybe I can support your position?
After reviewing the firmware source code, the firmware developer did not change CNC speed settings in V1.12.1.
Could you please PM me some videos so that I can tell the difference?
Looking forward to your reply.
Edwin
I checked with M1006 and there was no problem.
M1006
M1006
Tool Head: CNC
Current Power: 70
others < RPM: 8000
When the RPM is low, there seems to be a lot of variation in the machining process.
It was very helpful to understand this.
Thanks for your support @Edwin .
I just checked the fw installed currently in my machine and it’s v1.12.0.
I do upgrade the fw and then I’ll check again. After that I’ll come back to you.
Dear @Edwin I do confirm it was a fw related issue.
After the upgrade to the last version (v1.12.1) the spindle speed at 100% is “normal” again.
No vibration and the rotation ensure a sharp cut with the material I previously had problems with.
