ok, can’t find this much addressed elswhere - but what are the limitations with the CNC as far as materials? are there limitations?
I’ve had pretty good experience with it on wood (oak and similar), but I have a project that I need to cut out from a steel billet (damascus, about 3/16"). Does anyone have any experience with materials of this nature?
I wouldn’t try it. General consensus seems to be that soft, nonferrous metals like aluminium are right at the limit of what the Snapmaker can do (in other words, you can just barely mill thin sheets with a lot of care and teeny-weeny stepdowns). It just isn’t that powerful a machine.
