CNC board tips?

Hi Snappies,

Is anyone able to share some wisdom regarding the CNC process? I have two direct questions:

  1. I’ve cnc’ed a little into the wooden cnc board. Not a huge deal for me. In the future should i use some kind of buffer wood in between the material and the board?
  2. Does anyone have any tips on a type of hand vacuum that I can buy?

Kind regards,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Not an expert opinion but advice I got from this forum:
1- That piece of is made for cutting into it sometimes and would be changed every now and then. It is considered a consumable.
2- I asked about the vacuum and got this reply. Haven’t bought one yet.

Hope this is helpful.

Cheers for the advice. I’m not so sure about attaching a vacuum though as I dont want to modify my enclosure. was thinking maybe i can get away with a regular vacuum after the fact and use s small hand vacuum to dust the smaller parts.

You could do what I did and simply route the vacuum through the underside of the table itself

I designed and printed a passthrough fitting out of PETG to go through my desk and connect directly to my dust extractor

I hadn’t actually considered passing it through the table… genius!
