Build Plates on the A350

Question? Does anyone use the WhamBam build plate? How does it work? any other recommendations would be appreciated…Thanks!

I went to pyrex glass and will not be turning back.

calibration becomes a little trickier but there are some solutions for that too

I have a 330 square 3mm glass sheet and a whambam-like system on it. I get much more reliable first layers as the glass keeps things planar. The print surface is pei covered spring steel so auto levelling still works like stock.

@buzzplop Not quite sure what you mean: do you have the glass plate sitting on the heated plate, then a magnetic sheet attached to the glass, and finally a PEI covered spring steel plate on the very top as the build surface? Can you post a picture? Do you find the bed heats up properly with your setup (and what max temp can you get)?

Yup that’s my setup. Can still reach 70deg in 10 minutes. I don’t have a thermal camera to measure how much heat is actually making it to the surface, but it’s certainly hot to touch! I have only been printing pla and so far, so not had the chance to experience abs issues

I think it tops out at 83. But again, that’s the heater, not the print surface
