The issue
So after working with the J1 for a while I had a case where I needed to spit out nearly 1KG worth of plastic in one night for parts that I needed the next day. I swapped to 0.6mm nozzles and immediately found out my print speed was almost entirely capped volumetric flow.
At 0.3mm layer height the print speed was a measly 70mm/s, I managed to finish the project on time but that really showed me the limitations of the V6 design on the original hotend. So I made my 0.6mm nozzle pair into volcanos, the volumetric maximum can now reach nearly 40mm^3/s and can comfortably print at 120mm/s with 0.6mm nozzles! But this came with a new host of issues.
The Solution
The Volcano hotend is a whopping 8.5mm longer then the original v6 design + the extra 3.5mm from my hotend using a volcano adapter as a spacer instead of a custom part, that’s almost 1.2cm of extra height! The original brackets just won’t cut it and since I fully intend on using the original V6 style hotend for 0.4 and 0.2mm nozzles so I made this adjustable nozzle wiper.
The wiper is fairly low profile, not much larger then the original and is relatively light, the height is adjusted using a thumbscrew (assembled with a M4x40mm screw, 10mm washer and M4 nuts).

Also due to the height difference the original part cooler is practically blowing straight on the heater block, which is not good at all.
You can find a version of this part cooler for the volcano from: J1 Cooler and stuffs by mehlawlarz - Thingiverse
