Sure should have said more to it. I basically just wanted to continue on my earlier argument and show how it could also be done, open sourced, get help from the community, and tinkerer can built their own. This does not mean you can not sell Kits or even fully assembled ones, which would sell the same amount in my opinion since there still lots of people who don’t want to diy. Anyways just wanted to elaborate on my earlier point to not seem like someone who just wants to make your project bad or something, actually it’s the opposite, I think you could vastly profit from making it open source. In the end I would love if it’s open source and still produce a lot of money and don’t get buried because of the closed source nature and people moving on to better open source projects (see Swapmod). But this was the last post from me now I don’t want to be too annoying ![]()

Additionally, what is the purge volume consumed for each module? I have a due date in mind because I’m tempted by the Bambu Lab Vortex and the Core One Index, but I’d rather buy your project since it’s open source.
I notice that creality’s new mmu the cfs-c which incorporates a filament cutter external behind the printer. They seem to do tip forming then retract and then cut the end off which falls into a bin. Would there be an advantage incorporating something like this into your setup? Having no knowledge about tip forming, how difficult is it to get right and reliable?
Tip forming is to (try to) ensure the tip does not form into a blob which then jams in the tubes. Having the cutter back down the tube seems a bit pointless.
The problem is lack of closed-loop control. Whatever formula is used to form the tip, it has to work blind and with all varieties of filament (not forgetting there may be contamination from previous filaments in the hot-end).
Pretty sure I need more cereal boxes now.
