Even if there are some threads about the MAC Address of the printer I cound’nt figure out how to find it.
My Problem is I want to assign the same IP every time printer is connected. Via Luban I can see the IP. In my Router (Asus RT-AC86 @Merlin) I can’t find this IP in connected list. Even if the connection between Luban and the Snapmaker is active and the touch screen of the printer shows my SSID.
Is there any way to find out the MAC address of the printer?
If you are using DHCP on your network, it will have the MAC address in the list of clients that it gave an address to.
If you’re running Linux, you can ping the printer’s IP address then use “arp -a” to list all the devices your computer knows about. You’ll find the printer in that list.
The printer won’t show up in list of clients on the Router. Probably because he’s connected via a range extender. I’m only able to see the IP and MAC of the extender and how many clients are connected with the router via the extender. Unfortunately router signal is not strong enough to make a direct connection possible to the room the printer is in.
You should be able to log into the range extender and look at it.
Unfortunately I’m not. I think I have to unplug the extender a try to connect directly to the router. I thought there might be a way to read out the MAC address via USB connection or something else…
