I can guarantee it’s less than that - the wiring wouldn’t withstand that.

I have some spare cables I ordered arriving soon - I’ll hit you up again soon, we can do some investigation.

the 5A is guaranteed over what should be called signaling, Wasnt sure on the Powercontacts, peak loads still have to be dealt with. Any chance to get to know how much a calbe + shipping was aprox?
Also thanks for investigating.

If the entire 320W went over the power connector at 24V that would be <14A. Peak loads would only loosely have to be accounted for as follows:

  • It’s a dynamic condition, and limiting conditions are then determined by I2t energy before something melts, in which the cable will almost certainly outlast the components that energy is flowing into
  • There are no significant inductive or capacitive components that would induce any inrush beyond a few milliseconds

Therefore, I’d think it extremely unlikely the connectors would fail first.

5 cables for $14+$14 for shipping: 2 enclosure (same as heated bed on the controller side), 1 power supply (unique), 2 toolhead (same as linear module on the controller side)

The Controller has a
“30 UF500” Labeld yellow part on each port. After some searching, looks like a ‘Littlefuse RUEF 30V 5.00A’ Fuse. Which trips at 10A and holds 5A. And with the new ‘max rating’ a normal Dsub with a rating of 6-7A (Harting) should work. If not sure, omit the line ive mentioned before and tie two pins together for GND and 24V each.

Awesome detective work fellas! Anyone open up the laser module yet? I finally got my a350 and found out that I will need to upgrade the laser to cut thicker wood. Looking at this laser diode, and hopeful that it could be hacked together with the existing module like Frankenstein!
