Laser Module 10W box (result does not fit)
Hi ,
my first steps with the Laser Module were ambivalent.
The cutting worked, the result did not fit together.
I created a box (Thingiverse 3426555).
The material is poplar plywood (3,5mm). In Luban I used the profile “Basswood - 3.0 mm cutting”.
The cutting process was over after 8 minutes, the parts did not fit into each other.
Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
Greetings
Oliver
Try swapping the bottom and right pieces to see if that helps
I have cued another box I created myself (MakerCase - Easy Laser Cut Case Design).
Here too, the parts do not fit together, or only with force.
Basically, this means the tolerances in the model or and how you are cutting them (on the line I assume?) or not completely ok for the laser. Could be if the cut line is thinner than what the design you downloaded instead.
(the laser cuts a line of 0.1mm and the model expects it to be 0.15mm for example)
You could try boxpy. That also has a tool to find the optimal value for your specific device:

Have you measured the ply to find out if it’s actually 3.5mm? Very rarely is it actually exactly as listed.
Cut a square and measure it to see if it’s cutting the dimensions you’re telling it to.

Thanks for the help.
I measured the wood with a sliding caliper.
Maybe someone can tell me which profile I have to choose in Luban to cut 4mm plywood for example. Can I adjust the profiles to the thickness of the workpiece? What is the difference between the profile (1.5 mm) and the profile (3 mm)?
