Anyone know how this was done? Claimed to be custom laser etched. If so, can the 10W laser accomplish something close to this?
Right now I’ve only done negative engraving that removes the powder coat and leaves the stainless steel similar to what’s shown below.

If I had to take a guess, you could probably accomplish something similar by applying multiple layers of paint and then lasering them off selectively. The trick would be lasering off exactly one layer at a time, but I’ve heard that it’s possible. Note that there is no metal showing through in your first photo—the pictures are matte greyscale.
(It is really sad that I recognize which anime series all three of those characters are from.)
