Do the latest Firmware updates come installed on the New J1s at delivery?

When my J1s arrives, will the latest firmware be pre-installed?
Should I look for the latest J1s firmware (version?), and download it to my computer, and then transfer it to the machine, before I start the initial setup of my machine?
I have watched a few videos…where the user set up their machines, and then updated the firmware, thus had to do all of the bed leveling and extruder x/y/z settings all over again.

Which process should I do first?

  1. follow the booklet for initial setting up,
  2. download the latest firmware and then start the initial setup afterwards?

Will the machine allow step two?
Thanks in advance…
Excited and anxious to have my first 3D printer!

I don’t know if the last firmware comes pre-installed.
In any cases, I would suggest to setup wifi and just perform the automatic firmware update from the main control screen of the J1.

All the best in your 3D printing journey. The J1 is a fantastic machine IMO.

@obertini , Thanks for the response. Since I don’t have the machine as of yet.
When I turn it on, will I have an opportunity to set up Wi-Fi as an initial option, before the menu attempts to perform xyz alignments?
If i get the option to set up Wi-Fi, that would be great.

I don’t want to have to go through a whole set of alignment procedures, and then after all the alignments, i finally get to set up Wi-Fi and then download the most updated firmware; only to find out that I need to go through the alignments again.

Thanks… looking forward to testing the capabilities of this IDEX machine!

If memory serves, I believe you’ll be prompted to set up Wi-Fi early in the initial setup and it will load the latest firmware first, then I think you load filament, then you’ll go through the cal procedures. Just follow exactly what’s on the screen and it’s a simple process…about an hour tops I guess including two test prints for the full cal process.

Thank you @USMC6333 , I’m all pins and needles waiting for my printer to get past shipping , and get delivery… ugg the wait!
