Hello everyone, is it possible to change the adhesion type for the U1 between: Skirt, Brim, and Raft, as with other printers and software? In my version of Snapmaker Orca (version 2.1.5), I can’t find how to do this; the option is grayed out and stuck on “Combined” in the skirt type section! Are you experiencing this issue? Mine is the same way but I never use it and it doesn’t bother me. What are you trying to do? Are you having bed adhesion or leveling problems?
Click the Combined dropdown & pick something else & the options will be available.
I thought so too, but weirdly it’s greyed out. Perhaps because it’s set for zero skirt loops?
Exactly, I just tried it and you need to assign a value to the loop to unlock the list for the skirt. So you were right about that point. To summarize: I now know how to handle the skirt, in the “Other” section in SnapOrca, I found out how to use the “raft” in the “Supports” section, and I just discovered how to create a Brim on my J1S, but not on the U1. This function may not exist for that machine. Thank you again for your help. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones.
Brim is also available on the U1. In fact, I thought it was set on by default in many profiles.
If it’s like the other Orca based slicers the Brim is set to Automatic & the slicer decides if it needed. The dropdown will allow you to force a brim with several choices.
