Hi All,
My J1 has been dormant for a few months since I moved but it’s been sitting in my cool dry basement for that time and I looked over the other day and the PEI coating on the glass plate has started delaminating. Any thoughts on why this happened?
What are people doing as alternatives. I’ve been thinking about finding a g10 plate of similar thickness to try instead of glass.
Wow, was there something corrosive sitting on it.
Nothing sitting on it, Literally was sitting there for a month or two unused. And it’s not even on the part of the bed that I printed most of the time.
I think this is a case of warranty or at least amiability of snapmaker. Such a massive delamination can only be caused by a production issue.
Alternatively you can use the other, flat side of the plate coated with capton foil. It gives an excellent adhesion and can be renewed as often as it is necessary.

I bought the printer from microcenter as is, so I don’t think I can make any warranty claims. But I’ve been using the glass side with vision miner’s nano polymer coating and it’s been working great
