Hi folks,
i’m new here in this snapmaker world but not new to 3d printing.
I still own a Zortrax and a Raise3D printer already and have now the J1s.
I’m having problems getting a proper 2 colored print!
As you can see in the top of the picture, the slicer adds this extra steps at the end of the model, which you can also see on the print. Why is luban doing this and how to prevent it?
My first attempt was already not good. Blops and an ugly looking surface.
Second attempt with Ooze shield and slow speed:
Even worse!!! Dissapointing
I think 210°C is still too hot for this filament and the speed is even on slow preset way faster than my other printers. On normal it IS way faster than my other printers! So maybe this just prints too fast with too high temperatures?
What PLA works best for this kind of 2 colored print with the J1s? Any suggestions?
Or would another slicer like Cura or Prusa fix the problem?
Thanks for your help!
Hey, welcome!
Because of the missing print settings it’s a bit hard to diagnose…
Did you dry your filament? - Because of the bubbles it seems wet.
Printing a temperature tower is a good start point for any new (under special circumstances every roll) filament.
I would suggest to observe your print and maybe you see things like, it needs a bigger prime tower and a second wall for the ooze shield,…
Anyway, Prusa slicer is the way to print multi colour (I have read somewhere it’s the strongest multi extruder slicer right now).
Orca slicer could also be a option but I never tried and it’s still in alpha release state.
Hi,
thanks for you answer! Print settings are all at default and there isn’t much to adjust.
The only thing i changed was the temperature from 215 to 210°C bc i noticed quickly it’s too stringy.
My filament was dry, it was brand new out of the box. One colored prints look good.
The example shark printed well but there are no colors mixing like in my example.
Temperature tower is a good idea! And i will try out prusa slicer bc Luban is way too rudimentary for me i think.
Thanks for your reply!
