Stacking in Luban

HI,
I’m hoping that this is a stupid question with a simple answer. I’m printing visor frames for our local hospital and I’m currently limited to 2 at a time. I want to stack the visors on top of each other so I an print more at once. I’ve tried turning on supports and moving a duplicated part vertically, but it snaps back to the bed. How do I get Luban to stack properly?

Cheers,

Rob

Maybe it’s better to take a already stacked stl from github or so. Which version of headband do you print?

it the Europe one on here: visor

I should be able to stack the STL, just would have been nice to do it in Luban.

Rob

I think luban couldn´t do so. I could ask for a stack of 2 at makervsvirus Slack for it if you want?
Maybe i am also able to in simplify3d, never tried stacking…

That would be cool - I’ll give it a go in the STL file too.

Thanks,

Rob

Europe Iso838, Stack of two or more?

Thats correct, if a stack of 3 was possible, that would be better - I know I have time to print 6 in one go…

Rob

I am not sure if the europe iso838 will work as stack because you will need a lot of bridging.- do you want a “full” model?

I’m always open to new options, I chose this one as the studs are positioned for easy use with a 2 hole euro hole punch. If you have an STL of a similarly spaced one that stacks better, then I’d certainly look at it.

Rob

Here we go, it is a stack of 3 pieces, space between is 0,25mm, you have to test it, i never tried
I have just closed the toplayer of the 838, its full now.
Visor_frame_EUROPE_ISO838_v4_1st stack_3pc.stl (1.5 MB)

Please let me know if it works or should be adjusted.- Feel free to ask again! :+1:

@Bermudabob Did the stack work for you?

It would have, but it would have taken 4 hours longer than printing the same amount without stacking! I reckon you were right about the bridging. Maybe I need to find a design that can be stacked more efficiently.

Rob

You could print it with less infill and more or full wall size. I don’t think it will be printing much longer if you fine-tune your settings
