My Fusion360 went off today

Hello Makers,

I went in big trouble this morning. My Fusion is down, i can not save anythig, or export as stl, nothing is possible anymore. They say i must pay 60€ per Month or about 450 per year or 1333 to 3 years.
What Programs do you use for construction or is there a solution?

Sketchup or whatelse?

I liked Fusion a lot and been using it for about 2 years. :sob:

im using FreeCAD. Sofar it was enough for me needs. no super complicated things so far or complex asemblies.

Their student/education/hobbyist (free) license plan needs renewal. They give you a license for one year every time. I assume that year has passed by?

You should be able to renew it: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-renew-your-hobbyist-enthusiast-license-for-Fusion-360.html
(edit: changed the link, previous one was only for educational)

Personally I do use fusion for the CAM part for the cnc, but not for modeling. For that I’m using OpenSCAD. but that’s more a programmers tool than a designer tool. Very different approach to CAD. (but for me the learning curve was a lot smaller)
And I’m in doubt if I should switch to Estlcam for CNC, but on Fusion 360 is free (for now) and actually does work great.

But I think you should be able to renew your free license for another year.

FreeCAD is great. I am using the Realthunder branch, it has some real improvements over the ‘official’ version.

JokoEngineering has many many great tutorials on FreeCAD

What @brvdboss said.
You’ve probably been using it for exactly two years.
