Z axis adjustment

Hi Guys,

I have a CNC job running, but on the first pass the V-bit is barely touching the stock material in some places, probably due to either uneven bed or uneven stock material. Is there a way to adjust the Z height on the fly, whilst a job is running? The options seem to be greyed out in Luban and I can’t seem to do it via the touch screen either. Is it possible? Thanks for any advice.

This isn’t possible with the stock software. There’s a simple bed levelling available for FDM, but not for the milling function.

Let me suggest trying out your G-code on MDF, which is the easiest-to-buy “very flat” wood material for most people. That eliminates the possibility that your material height is the problem. If you’re still not getting acceptable results, you’ll need to dig into the machine itself. Expect to spend some money on measuring tools if you do this.
