I do remember that there was a post a while back from SM regarding a new tool
that would start the long awaited database for Snapmaker own printable file.
Like MW or Printables, but files that already are setup to be printed with a SM printer, okke the U1
And avoiding the conversion stuff etc,
What happened to that project ?

They are running a beta for testing, if I remember correctly

Nobody need an additional page for models. Already makerworld sucks in my opinion
Not every printer manufacturer needs its own model library.

The mobile app has a small collection of models available, and I believe that’s them testing it out.
You are missing the fact that many new users, people that are starting the 3D printing hobby with the U1, would like to download printables files and not end up in a conversion battle from Bambu System or Prusa System to SM. Also I take it that it is a good marketing thing to have its own database with loads of files directly printables on the SM printers.
I agree there’s a lot of gcode that SM neither uses or needs causing issues (but that Bambu rightly needs and is THEIR site)
I can’t help but wonder if people having issues isn’t in some part due to the above? If I create my own part/model 99.9% of the time I have zero issues printing it on my U1 - Stuff from Makerworld can be a crap shoot as to whether its a complete PITA to print or not…

For me libraries should just host stls. What Bambu started with the 3mf files and presets for specific printers is just annoying when you do not have the printer the profile is for.
And this is not just a problem between different brands. I regularly have problems when there is a file for a p1s and i just own a a1mini. If you do not want to slice stuff, do not buy a 3d printer.
In a few years every printer brand has it s own library and printing or the stuff on other printers is a mess. It is just a step in the wrong direction.
The trouble is caused by sadly people nicking others models and claiming them to be their own design, which is a lot easier with STL’s than 3mfs
I do understand where you are coming from and of course the minority always spoil it for the majority
