Added Direct Machine Connection support for Snapmaker Orca. You can now send G-code to your machine over Wi-Fi without using Luban as a transfer station. Snapmaker Orca communicates directly with your machine through the OctoPrint protocol.
With the beta firmware you no longer need to open Snapmaker Luban first to establish the connection. The only difference from before is the IP-address format, which now becomes: current device IP:8080 , e.g., 192.168.0.1:8080 .
Uploading and starting a print from both Snapmaker Luban and Snapmaker Orca at the same time will cause the job to fail.
In some cases, sending a file via Snapmaker Orca may stick at 0 % upload progress; if this happens, restart the machine and provide logs plus a description of the problem.
So despite the new post and the “new” date (2026-02-30), there is no actual update. The firmware hasn’t changed.
I have to say, I’m quite disappointed. Not because of the lack of a new version but because of the way this is handled. Creating a fresh post with the exact same file, without any acknowledgment or explanation, feels misleading. It raises false hopes and wastes everyone’s time.
If there are delays or if no progress has been made, that’s okay. But a little transparency would go a long way. A simple update saying “we’re still working on it” would be far better than repackaging old content as something new.
But it’s really hard to still have trust in the brand Snapmaker after I purchased the J1S. I am not able to recommend even the new fresh U1 to anybody around me, as the J1S and the lack of support is such a disappointing machine.
I really want the J1(s) to reach its full potential, but communication like this makes it hard to stay confident. PLEASE PLEASE, Snapmaker keep us informed honestly. Most of us are patient and understanding if you just tell us what’s going on.

For the latest firmware, if you have optimization suggestions, please submit them to me for collection, but we can’t promise immediate fixes. Current resources are insufficient for major updates; it depends on future coordination.
We sincerely apologize. As you understand, the current official version indeed hasn’t changed much from the previous beta firmware—only minor tweaks were made. Due to limited software resources, the current main focus remains on optimizing the U1 new product and the slicer software. If resources become available later, we will continue addressing previously collected issues. The software team has started hiring; we’ll see if resources can be allocated in future planning.
