U1 support for PVA

What are parameters for PVA on U1?

PLA Printing Guide https://wiki.snapmaker.com/en/snapmaker_artisan/troubleshooting/pva_tpu_breakaway_support needs updating for U1.

There is a profile for PVA in Snapmaker Orca already, if I recall correctly. I haven’t had the occasion to try it yet though.

I’ve used PVA on the U1, using the default profile. LOTS of stringing. I haven’t played with the settings to try to minimize it. Other than that, it works fine.

I’d guess you know it’d need to be kept very dry while printing. Wonder if retraction needs tweaking.

Yes, I bought a Polymaker dryer/box for it. It is the dead of winter here in the NE, and the temperature has been below freezing for weeks, so the air is very dry, too. This is actually the first time I’ve used PVA. Except for the stringing, it works well. I’m going to use the PVA just for support interfaces, and either PLA or PETG for the supports themselves.

I did my first print using PVA in my U1 last night and it worked a treat. I printed from the polymaker drybox (lowest temp) with the generic PVA profile modified with speed slowed right down to 1mm3 and fan to 10% using the Siddament PVA. Unsure about other brands performance though this stuff curls like crazy if printed too fast or with too much part cooling fan. PVA dried for ~24h @50c prior in dehydrator, zero stringing.
