hi
i have a problem with my u1 with paxx firmware, its been working for almost a month fine.
but today wanted to boot my printer and now its stuck on boot screen where u see the fw version
what could be the problem?
Suggest to ask in Discord channel where experts (incl Paxx himself) are present.
@crae have you been able to solve the problem ?
PAXX was helping him go through some checks etc last night, but I didn’t actually see if he resolved the issue?
We’re not all on Discord, nor want to be. I notice they don’t let you read it unless you’re signed up.
Well I wouldn’t know anymore than I wrote above as I quit the discord server today as its like a load of feral kids have taken over it & SM doesn’t care, a toxic clique spoiling it.
That’s why I’m not on Discord. It has no advantage over Facebook, and the idea of using Facebook for high quality and persistent technical discussion is already ludicrous.
Well, to follow the discord channel it needs reading and understanding the various functions it offers. Once you get over that and don’t follow the “U1 printer” part, but the various sub-channels, then extra info can be gathered. Incl help from Paxx himself, if needed. Unfo people seem to like the chaos, rather than using a more organized forum. May be we can request better support for this forum from Snapmaker (@Sherry !?).
They (SM) don’t do badly here compared with other community support forums! The actual purpose is that enthusiasts provide a lot of the support so SM don’t have to! I don’t object to that one bit, and it is useful feedback.
Personally I don’t like that people use social media channels for support, it just disappears into the dross over time and is not a useful resource… except that it’s where the lightweights are who think social media is everything. It’s hard to keep content classified by subject on social media, it is mainly classified by topicality. However, (eg) Paxx can have his own channel over there whereas he couldn’t here.
I’m not sure how many people realise this forum exists?
I’d love to see people like PAXX posting more on here showing off the features of the FW, it wouldn’t get lost then in all the noise…
I know! Even in the Kickstarter communications Snapmaker did not advertise their own forum, I had to go looking to see whether there was one.

This forum mainly contains problems, so it’s not something SM would really want to shout about..
One would hope the forum is about sharing tips and finding solutions. I’m sure social media is no less full of problems!
