multiACE prerelease: park position swaps

The new prerelease swaps filament in the background while one head keeps printing, A toolchange simply disappears into print time. Enjoy!

Yes.. they are both described on Github.. 0.99.3b is the normal version, 0.99.5b prerelease is the unsopported, experimental version with background swaps.

I got this error “[multiACE] USB unstable, expected 1 ACEs, found 0 - ACE inactive, Klipper continues. FIRMWARE_RESTART required after reconnecting.” but can’t troubleshoot can you help me.
I tried recrimp the cable, double check D+ and D- cable but still not work. How can i turn on log or check anything happen when I plugin the cable?

I was getting that with 0.99.3b so went to 6 pin cable to USB-A, no drops now

  • Check USB connection: ls /dev/serial/by-path/
  • ACE Pro should show as vendor 28e9, product 018a

I had a feeding issue with one of my Ace Pro 1st’s so had to order another, they sent a Ace Pro 2, how do I check the firmware or will it be passed the minimum 1.1.3?

Also it looks so convoluted to update the firmware if needed, I am hoping it just works out of the box, saves returning another?

The Ace Pro 1st and 2nd are connected, just not fully working yet, I forgot to remove the feeders lol, looks like my Ace Pro 2 must have a newer firmware

You don’t have to remove the feeders.. Ace 2 will be detected with wrong firmware.. It will just not work properly.. Look at fluidd log, MACRO ACEG_STATUS should show the firmware version.

No what I meant was I had my Sovol SH03 still connected with the feeders, so had to unload those and then set it up again as MULTI in config, seems to be working so far, will keep you posted

Finally found it, so how do I update the Ace Pro 2 please? Easiest way for dunderheads like me please, is it via SSH?

Managed to wire up a cable using the ch340 that came with the Ace Pro 2, how do I get windows to read it and do I need python software to communicate, it’s a learning curve for me but I’ll give anything a go, many thanks again
