U1 Multi ACE Pro Integration, Stock Firmware, no Soldering

Hi guy i have some noob question

  • Can we use ace pro cable to mod usb?
  • Do we need remove feeder when use ace pro?
  • How we daisy chain Ace pro? I dont see any usb port

Thanks!

Honestly I cannot picture what would actually be different about the 2m of filament sitting in the tube. It does not really degrade just from sitting there, so I am curious how you explain it. If you have a theory, I would like to hear it.

I do share your feeling that the errors pile up as the number of changes grows, and the longer a print runs the worse it seems to get. My own explanation leans toward heat creep and heat soak: over a long print the heat slowly creeps up the heatbreak, so the filament softens over a longer section above the melt zone, and forming a clean tip on unload gets harder. Once that starts, the cold pull strips a soft column instead of pulling a clean plug, and stuck tips become more frequent as the print goes on. That fits the pattern of it getting worse over time much better than anything about the filament itself going bad.

On reprint: yes, it should work exactly like that. The catch is the display. It does not let me just re-run the processed file, it wants to reassign the colors again first.

Hi..

  • yes, its possible, but you have to know which wires are D+, D- and GND
  • no
  • With the ACE Pro Cable

Hi just saying hello and thank you. I’m currently running the multiACE system and it’s been amazing. Ran the new mod for toolhead 4 single ace unit and 4 color swap. Working but unable to use the snapmaker loader as I’m running the multiACE. Love this idea now just need to be able to run it with second ace for the other three heads. Just love all your doing and wanted to thank you personally.

Thank you for the kind words, that really means a lot.

One thing I have not fully understood yet: which loader is it that you cannot get running? Do the stock feeders not work for you? With those you should be able to print up to 7 colors without a problem, so if something is actually broken there, please open a GitHub issue and we will work through it and get it sorted.

On the second ACE: that is already supported today through the parallel connection. A mixed setup is not something I have planned for now. But with the next version each head will be able to get its own single ACE, and that is the prerequisite for another feature that is also on the way.

Thanks again for taking the time to reach out.

Thank you for quick response. I’m currently only running the 2 ace pro units for all loading and unloading no stock feeders are being used. That’s why I’m unable to use this current mod i lose the use of my second ace for feeding remaining heads. The multiACE setup works flawlessly I’ve even been able to change colors from one ace to the other using g code switch. Lot’s of fun. Looking forward to whats next. Cheers

Ahh, all right, now i got it. Ok, next version will support more ACE per Head, then you can test per head mode with 2 ACE.

Nice, but you did find the Webpreflight for easier color swaps? Or do i really have to write a manual for that

Webpreflight? What is that.

Okay, i will update the manuals soon.

In Slicer export GCode instead hitting print.

In multiACE Web Ui hit the gcode button and select the gcode file.

Right I am new to this, coming from AMS on BL H2D.

I have managed to get 2 Ace Pro 1st gens, installed the latest MultiAce on top of my Paxx12.20 firmware, both Ace Pros are working great, I can see them both, load unload etc.

How do I get Snorca to see all 8 colours, or do I have to stick with the normal 4?

Also is there a way to integrate Mainsail in Snorca, I prefer normal Orca but it seem MultiAce prefers Snorca according to things I have read.

Any help would be great, so sorry if some of these questions have been asked, I struggle to read too long being disabled and 3D printing is a release for me

Thanks again

Hi, its basically the answer directly on top of your question.. its not possible in Snorca, Export then open Gcode in Webui and select Slice / Loadout colors.. Print..

About Mainsail, i don’t know..

Thanks I think I have just figured that after I sent the message, lol it would be good to integrate in Snorca or Orca at some point, then again I will no doubt get used to just using the send G-Code

Thanks again, onwards and upwards

Yes.. would be nice.. But this alone takes more of my time than i initially planned.. so not in the near future

Fair enough, cannot thank you enough

When you go to load a new filament and click load, it obviously unloads the same number toolhead, why does it need to go all the way back to the Ace Pro, why can’t it just sit at the “Swap Retract Position”?

And I am also getting unspooling when it retracts back into the Ace Pro, maybe it is too fast, not changed any speeds?

Thanks again

MultiACE config I changed retraction length and speed there. I think this is what you’re asking. I hope this helps.

Yes I did it before first print, measured my PTFE all the way from the Ace Pro to the tool head, and did the settings, but the last time it retracted a filament to load another it unwound too much in the Ace Pro, I wonder if that is why I keep seeing loads of different adaptions for them, maybe to stop the backup of filament?

Thanks for the reply, I will get there, only set it up a few hours ago

Just keep changing and testing till you get the retraction length you want. Lots ot trial and error lol. You’re doing better than I did when I first started. I’m a welder for a living. Most I’ve done on a computer is loading 3d print files haha.

Well good luck and cheers.

Boredom killer for me, yes I will get there, it is doing all I want so far, thanks again

Just usedthe g code in the multiACE ui and WOW this is amazing. Already have a six color model on. Thank you again for the tip and everything you do my friend. Can’t even imagine the U1 without the multiACE system. Just had to tell you. Cheers

It unloads the retract lenght, thats a seperate value. I recommend printing some guides for the ACE Pro V1..
