Thanks, but that seems too complicated and unlikely to succeed. My ACE Pro 2 is new and has only been with me for two days, so returning it would be the more sensible approach.
Could it be an issue with the ACE’s firmware? I haven’t flashed anything yet—should I try that? Or does it mean that with the wrong (old) firmware, there’s simply no connection to the U1?
Yes.. flash is needed for ACE2 to work properly, it connects, but produces transport errors. Do that.

ACE Pro 2 never enumerates on Snapmaker U1 (newer hardware revision) — same failure on two separate units
Hardware: Snapmaker U1, newer revision (has the extra unlabeled “Add-on” port that older U1s don’t have — no one seems to know what that port is actually for). PAXX Extended Firmware installed, multiACE installed and running clean (Klipper starts fine, ace.py loads with no config errors, enable_ace_v2: true).
Problem: The ACE Pro 2 never successfully connects, no matter what I try. I’ve now tested this with two completely separate ACE Pro 2 units (one secondhand, one brand new out of the box) — both fail identically, which rules out a defective unit.
What I’ve already ruled out, with evidence each time:
- Wrong port: tried the “Add-on” port — gets zero response at all (nothing in
lsusb, nothing indmesg). Switched to the standard/documented USB port instead, which is where all of this below is happening. - Power conflict: ACE Pro 2 is powered by its own separate AC adapter. The data cable only carries ground + the two data wires — the VCC/red wire is deliberately left disconnected and taped off to avoid a power conflict.
- Wrong polarity: originally showed up as a “low-speed” device (wrong — should be full-speed for a CH340/CH343-class chip), which pointed at reversed D+/D−. Swapped them, and it now correctly shows as “full-speed” — but still fails at the next step (below).
- Signal integrity: data wires are physically twisted together along their full length.
- Stuck USB hub state: tried a full hard power-off (not just a reboot) on both the printer and the ACE Pro 2 — identical failure afterward, down to the same timing.
The actual kernel log, every single time, regardless of which fix I’ve tried:

It attaches and gets the speed class right, but consistently fails the actual descriptor read/address assignment (error -32 / EPIPE) every time, on both port 3-1.3 attempts. lsusb never shows it.
Has anyone seen this specific failure on a newer U1 revision? Trying to figure out if this is a known compatibility issue with this printer’s USB controller, or something else I haven’t found yet. Happy to provide more logs/info.
Are you using the K3 Cable with the RS485-USB Converter?

Did you get 2 cables with your Ace Pro 2?
The one with the fat part id the one you need to modify, it has a chip inside it
Can you give me an exact link to the cable , & RS485 usb converter , and send me a pic and instructions on how to make it exactly , I’m an old man , I’ve been trying to follow the GitHub instructions as close as I can , I’m down to this item for about a week , had my ace pro 2 torn apart multiple times re-soldering every connection in there because I thought it was a older ace pro 2 , even added a USB-C port on the back of the machine , I was so disappointed , I went and bought another one thinking it was a bad motherboard , and had the same exact errors with a brand new ace pro2 , so now I have 2 , lmao , so if you can be so kind , and trust me it would make this old man very happy , to send not only the above request , but also how ya hook up multiple ace pro2s with everything I’ll need didn’t plan on 2 but hell if I have then might as well put both of them to work if I can .
Is that the one that comes with the ace pro2 ?
Yes no idea where mine is, will try and find it, I bought a cheap four pin from Amazon and joined that to it so I didn’t need to cut the factory cable, it is the bigger ended one that has the usb converter built in
ok this may be a dumb question , i just checked the box and found 3 different cables anycubic put in the box , , now heres the dumb question , do you plug that into the 4 pin port or the 6 pin port on the back of the ace pro 2 ?
Been a few weeks since I did mine, my comments are above, will see if I can remember once I have had my tea, I still have the 4pin so it has to be the 4 pin connected to the USB connector, and the 6 pin bigger end into the Ace Pro 2 6 pin, and then plugged into wither a PC or Mac
