Amateur here. Question not too important…

When I started 6 months ago, I would send a g-code file to the printer via WiFi and the touchscreen would say something like “start printing now”…

Now I send the code to the printer, and the touchscreen says “file received”. But then behind that it says “disconnect network” (or perhaps wifi) and I have to do that (nothing else responds), and then swipe to the files and choose the most recently listed g-code.

Has something changed or have I done something to setup?

Thanks

Changed it without telling anybody or asking what they wanted.
Suggestion was it would be fixed in next release,

[New Firmware for A350: Why changed dialogue?](https://forum.snapmaker.com/t/new-firmware-for-a350-why-changed-dialog/17551) For Firmware 1.12.0, this is a transition phase to the Rotary Module. The workflow of transferring the file via Wi-Fi will be improved in the next version of Snapmaker Firmware. The touchscreen will not ask you to start the work but inform you the file has been transferred successfully after you send the file to the machine. After you tap “OK” on the touchscreen, you will …

Thanks for this clarification.

I do look forward to the optimization of the workflow. Would be nice to be able to do it all from the Luban software rather than having to switch between platforms though I understand that the “design” and the “production” are different processes.

I’m now used to popping between the two devices - I carry my laptop downstairs to where the printer is located.

You can send files from a laptop using this though you still need to walk to the Snapmaker:-

I added the context menu on .GCode files, now I can do this: [image] I also changed your functionality slightly so there’s no pause after you confirm the connection - it immediately uploads. Saves my walking between rooms. I also added some error handling if the initial connection fails. To get this running, unzip this folder into C:\Tools. Any other folder will require modifying the registry commands, as they are pointing to “C:\Tools\Send t…

This is why lots of us use OctoPrint running on a Raspberry Pi. It works extremely well and allows you to add a camera and print/monitor from another room. I also use OctoPrint to power the Snapmaker on and off and only go to the printer to take the models off!
