I am planning to upgrade the firmware on a v 1.8 machine, and I got advice from support to do this incrementally.

I am seeing in the forum various steps involved including upgrading toolheads, etc.

Can someone provide a clear roadmap to bringing this machine into the modern age without running into roadblocks? ie do I have to upgrade each version one at a time? Can I skip some? Do I need to upgrade toolheads along the way? etc.

Much thanks in advance,

Milt

Unfortunately I can’t find the thread about upgrading toolheads, it was necessary to upgrade each toolhead once at this release.

Here are the various versions available:

Unfortunately no advice from me. I can remember problems of others about updating order but I couldn’t say which versions are necessary.

With something that old, the first question is “do you need to upgrade at all?” If it’s working for you, I’d leave it alone. I’d only upgrade if there’s a bug or feature you’re looking for.

I did get an error trying to connect by Wi-Fi saying the firmware should be updated.
