# Laser cutting - Laser didn´t shut off between objects

Hi there,

i just tried to cut of some Paper for a birthday gift card.  
I imported a SVG, see a nice clean path.  
But if the laser cut it, the laser doens´t shut off between the letters or different parts… (white lines on the workspace)

Update the firmware of your machine to the latest, or at least version 1.17.17. There was a change implemented in Luban 4.9.0 and 2.0 firmware 1.17.17 to enable inline power control. Any lower version of firmware and the laser does not turn off.

I have seen the update… but didn‘t tried.
