Most cameras (in the hardware or software? I know not), when faced with a highly colour-biased image, will try to normalise the image towards a standard average (18%) grey image. The, mostly black, interior does not help with this either. This automatic correction is not really necessary in this situation.
In short (since the term hasn’t been mentioned) it’s down to how the camera compensates the white balance. I’m sure there are options under the hood to improve this.
Under paxx12 I believe you have access to the white balance options, but under stock FW you don’t.
That’s weird. If this was a simple problem with white balance, the colour of the toolhead carrier should be off as well. I was tempted to suggest an intermittent fault in one of the camera colour channels, but again that would affect the whole scene.
What could turn red into magenta and yellow into pink, but leave blacks and whites alone? I can only think of a hue shift (as in hue-saturation-luminance colour encoding), but why would anyone implement white balance by hue shift? I’m pretty sure that’s not the right way to do it.
I don’t use the camera much, and coloured filament even less, but I’ll keep an eye on it.
I printed a cylinder that is 20 cm tall. The print head moves in a circular motion, sometimes getting closer to the camera and then further away. This also affects the exposure when the print head passes by the build chamber lighting. The color shift begins at approximately 7 cm of print height and happens very gradually. In the brighter areas where the light reflects, you can already notice a slight pink tint. The longer the print continues, the more the pink color intensifies.
You can also see this in the video where I briefly put my hand in the print area in front of the camera and then quickly remove it… PUFF, the colors return to normal.
I am printing the exact same object using the same filament on my Bambu Lab X1C, and the video feed remains normal throughout.
Support has already reached out and will follow up again.
I don’t think this can be reproduced simply by adjusting the red channels.
