I traced out a photo in inkscape and converted to vector. I then cropped the image in to a few separate elements for cutting on paper and saved each one. When I throw a single element in to Luban it imports fine and only shows the single element, but when I generate a toolpath and preview, all of the elements are included for some reason. Why does it do this? Every other piece of software just works and I feel like I have to fight Luban every step of the way.

That’s not Luban issue, it’s your software. I use illustrator to creat and edit my SVGs and never had an issue with Luban. Clearly the other elements are still in the SVG.

It’s well known that Luban doesn’t support all the assets of SVG. A lot of users complain about making an SVG and Luban manking it up. Sadly the main answer is to use external software… I bet Luban’s crap SVG support has sold many copies of Lightburn. The only other option would be to export as a high quality PNG and use the trace function in Luban.
