Got ASA and PETG projects but I’m concerned about constantly running the AMS 2 Pro for drying and I only have one PolyDryer.

A lot of people are making side boxes. Here is an example Makerworld.com filament drybox. Numerous different designs are floating around.
Since posting this I got the SnapDryer Bundle on sale and with a $50 coupon I had! I now have 2 dryers, an original PolyDryer, and 5 boxes. They are incredibly useful! I’m printing directly from them and they work great.
I’m curious about the printed versions of the boxes that will work on the dryers as well…
I printed the spool holders and drwr from CC3d. Slick designs, but pricy to purchase the print files. The spool holders incorporate a polydryer on each side. While I do appreciate the design and the fact that it keeps the spools on the machine itself there are some issues.
plans and cost of filament is not cheap
polydryer heat output seems weak for heating the space required to hold 2 spools
with the recommended 2 wall slicer settings, the holder is in no way air tight or a barrier to moisture.
I was able to improve things by giving the spool holder a coat of clear Flex Seal (use the brush on) both inside and out and doubling up the gasket thickness. I began adding insulation to the inside to improve heat retention but am not finished yet.
Yeah, I looked at that and there was no way I was gonna spend money on it. Looks amazing but too much for the files and a single Dryer for that size chamber seems very underpowered…
I’ve now got a PolyDryer and a SnapDryer, plus 6 boxes! This is working out really well for me
