Homing issue on A350. with enclosure fitted. the machine recognises the enclosure. Latest firmware is installed.

I don’t seem to be able to get the module, in this case the laser, so you can see the position..to recognise the Home position ( top Left).

Without loading any files when I start up it goes to ‘Home’ as part of its start up routine. The problem is the module moves too far left . The first picture shows that I can manually adjust it to the correct place using the x,y,z positioning, but it will not set it as ‘Home’.

The second photo shows where the machine has determined home is..

To be Honest I have had trouble with this since I got it.. on kickstarter.. and I thought it was something I was doing wrong, so I’ve had someone’s take a look and they can’t understand it either.

Is my only option to figure out the difference in the x,y co-ordinates and take that into account when setting up the work origin? or is there a way too reset Home ??

ANY IDEAS Grateful.

I don’t know of any way to change the home position, but if you do end up measuring the difference, you can do that by moving it to the position you want and sending the command M114 to it, which will report the current position.

Home is always home. This is needed for reference, so the machine moves in the same coordinate system every time.

By selecting a file you can set the Origin of the coordinate system, the 0/0 of your job.
You could select the preferred origin method in Luban, like the L on the front left edge (Sorry can’t remember the correct wording).

Here is a guide for repeatable origin if you are interested:

>
> To preface; this is a bit hacky and requires you to make an edit to one of Luban’s installed files. This is mostly for those who want a repeatable origin (we’re setting up the lower left) in Luban without paying for Lightburn. After setup, it does require you to add a single line to your generated code. Just a G0 Z# for your material thickness. MAKE A BACKUP OF THIS FILE FIRST. You will also need multiples to swap in/out or modify if you have multiple lasers. i.e. your X/Y/Z will be different be…
