Re3cently, when I try to print, the heated bed will not heat up. Specifically, during the step when the printer prepares to print, moves the nozzle down and to the left, then heats up to the specified temperature for the nozzle and bed, the nozzle will heat up and the bed will not. If, before I start a print, I set the bed temperature to the desired amount manually, then start a print, the print starts just fine and the heated bed stayts hot throughout the print. Its just during the prep phase that the heated bed does not heat up.

Any advice?

Just to rule out the possibility of a g-code issue would you mind posting the g-code file?

You didn’t have this problem before?

What version of firmware are you using?
Did you update to a new version of Luban?

Post your g-code.

When the problem happened, i had been using the same firmware and luban version for a month already, and had not done any updates. When it happened, i attempted updates to see if that fixed it. So I am running 3.10.2 Luban and firmware 1.10.1. Before that I had 1.8 and 3.8, I think.

I have also used a couple different gcode files, same thing happens each time. Here is one of them.[Wall Hook - side fixed\_05116085.gcode](https://forum.snapmaker.com/uploads/short-url/t5bfiiGOG4997XVaz7guPz8y6YJ.gcode) (1.6 MB)

Some other information i for, showing the status of the snapmaker.

And then I sent some manual commands to just heat it up, and got this weird message back. “Not heated BED!” and then i manually turned the heaters off.

Interesting, thanks.

Edit: forgot about it working manually
~~Do you have a multimeter they can check resistance? I’m wondering if the cable has failed.~~

~~Is there any damage as the cable comes out of the bed?~~

But it’s heating up fine when he does it manually.
That would mean either a g-code or firmware problem.

Do you have an older file that you know ran fine that you can try running?
See if it does the same thing?

Try re-installing the firmware in case it’s just something that got corrupted?
1.9 is most stable firmware.

Update:

I am no longer getting the bed to heat up at all, it stays at room temperature no matter what method I use. I had aready submitted a ticket.

So it was an intermittent that is now no longer.

If you do have a multimeter to test it you should.
Check the cable where it meets the bed for wear.

Followed the steps here:

> **[The heated bed cannot heat up](https://support.snapmaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057401593-The-heated-bed-cannot-heat-up)**
>
> Phenomenon:
> The heated bed cannot heat up when you set the target temperature on the touchscreen or start a print.
>
> Causes:
>
> The thermistor of the bed is open or shorted
> The circuit of the bed is...

Step 1, The cable might be a little worn.

 ![PXL_20201103_223201922](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex022/uploads/snapmaker/original/2X/5/5af1f9ef48ef7be66b93e4ad36645e7b3f512ddf.jpeg)

Step 2: definitely in the right port
Step 3: 100kOhms between the center 2 pins.
Step 4: The outer 2 pins are open loop.

So, this was probably always an intermittent cable issue where the outer pins lost connectivity due to cable wear.
