To keep versions separated, I am using the portable versions. Since your data folder is inside your application folder, there is no automatic way to transfer the filament and printer settings from one release to another, and I don’t know if there is a manual procedure to do that safely.
Data should be saved in apod at a\FOrcaSlicer and separate from appdata\snapmaker_orcaslicer
If you need to run different versions of FOS and have separate data, that can be done as well.
I just did the update and everything stayed as it should be ![]()
v2.3.2-fos.8.6.7
New: Hide online models checkbox beside the refresh button under Recommended for You on the Home page - while it is ticked, the recommended models and their thumbnails are not downloaded (see First Launch).
Faster first launch: on some computers the first launch after the machine had been idle took 11 to 18 seconds before the window appeared; the printer profiles are now read in parallel, so a first launch is as fast as a repeat launch.
Fixed: when a plate’s second filament was used only for the inner wall, the prime tower was not shown in Prepare, could not be moved, and could be sliced partly off the plate.
An update that keeps everything where it belongs is the best kind of update. The faster first launch is a nice bonus too.
