Hi,

Is there someone that have come up with a solution how to avoid having to unplug the hotbed cable in the controller and plugging in the pump for the laser in the controller every time you switch between laser and 3d printing?

I was thinking of just making a split cable, allowing the air pump to be connected all the time (assuming it just using power and are controlled by the controller)

Asked snapmaker support, but they did not provide me any solution, just told me to keep unplugging. 🙂

Cheers
/Anders

The cable is providing power, AND Control to the hotbed or Air pump when connected.
Having the two plugged in at once may not be a good idea, and may not be good for the controller…

Do you know if it’s CAN bus communication between controller and hotbed/air pump?

There is no CAN bus communication and that is the problem. The used connector is set on and of from the controller. The thin pins are for the heated bed temperature sensor. If you put both in with a split cable, then the air pump works when the bed is heated. If that is PWM, that is bad for the pump. And is maybe to mutch for the controller.

The better way was the air pump steering from the CAN bus outside the enclosure. You can connect the air pump in the bus outside the enclosure but then it isn’t possible to swith the pump on and off. The pump is always on.

It would be nice, if laser pumb can be connected to Add-on 1 port (for example), and from settings you can choose the correct port for laser pumb, if other than default port is used.
