@VaporPhoxxe Brought it to my attention that the inline bug of not turning the laser off when `S0` is requested from firmware _1.14_ is still not fixed in the latest 1.17.17. It was brought to light as the new 4.9.0 version of Luban finally begins to introduce inline code (the same Lightburn users have been enjoying with my custom firmware that fixes the above bug).

A quick rundown is when the laser SHOULD turn off, it instead remains full power, which at the end of a project when the laser stops to move up, can cause fire. More information can be found in the following two posts; one of @VaporPhoxxe’s observation, and my response to the cause.

> They’re finally trying to do inline on Luban. Which you’re now experiencing the exact bug I pointed out way back in 1.14 that I described in an old post below. (and is why I had made custom firmware) [https://forum.snapmaker.com/t/full-lightburn-control-guide/27638/35](https://forum.snapmaker.com/t/full-lightburn-control-guide/27638/35) They’re no longer using M3/M5 to turn the laser on and off, instead turning it on with M3 or M4 and then inline power changes to control the laser. However, when the laser should be “Off” it calls for S0 which, in theory, should t…

It seems like updating to the latest firmware should resolve the issue…

That’s good then, least it got resolved quickly.
