I found a backup folder (user_backup_2.3.4) in the snapmaker_orca folder, but how does it work: I didn’t find anything about making backups of the user settings?
I believe thats created when you upgrade either SnOrca/Orca - So did you go from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 by any chance?
User settings get stored in the .3mf file. All you have to do is save, and to restore that set of settings open it.
Sorry, I meant the settings about filaments, printer, etc. not the projects.
Yes, but it does (or at least I think it does). Try it: save a .3mf, change something, open the .3mf.
I tried to, but it failed. I could not upgrade. I had to rename my snapmaker orca folders before I could install and even then nothing worked. That’s were I lost all my filaments settings, etc. So I would like to make a backup regularly in order to be safe for such misadventures
It takes the settings you used, but it’s not very practical: in case of a problem you have to search for your filament settings in your projects (which I don’t always keep).

I don’t have SnOrca installed curently as waiting to test the new beta when released, but shouldbe the same as vanilla Orca:
Go to MENU > FILE > EXPORT > EXPORT PRESET BUNDLE
Then I create the 3 zip files I’ve marked below, you have to do each one separately which is a pain, click on the radio button for the zip, then you MUST tick all your presets/settings as shown to back them up
To reinstall use the IMPORT button in the FILE menu

Thank you, ColdCoffee! I found something similar in SnOrca. It takes a lot of mouse clicks to export all items. Apparently, this facet of the app is not very extensively developed. Do you know if it can be scripted?

No sadly I don’t, I’m no coder so can’t even look at it myself - But if you decide to dig and find something please report back 
I had a chat with my friend ChatGPT. It looks that there is no command available to export the user settings. So I decided for the following approach:
I’ll take a regular backup of the …\appdata\roaming\snapmaker-orca\user folder. As long as I stay in the same release, I can restore my settings by copying the content back.
Before upgrading, I do an export of all the user settings. In case the upgrade goes wrong, or the user settings are not taken over automatically by the new version, I’ll import those settings.
This avoids unnecessary clicks in the export menu…
